The CAA International EALTS worldwideEALTS in useThe EALTS has been approved for use internationally by aircraft operators, air navigation service providers, flight and air traffic control training institutions and by an increasing number of national supervisory bodies and regulating/licensing authorities for the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements compliant assessment of plain English in the context of aviation and aeronautical communications for license endorsement purposes. Although the CAAi EALTS is recognised by the UK CAA and by national supervisory bodies and regulating/licensing authorities of a number of ICAO Member States, the EALTS Test Partners continue to undertake a programme of awareness raising to ensure the full recognition of the EALTS by professional registration bodies, national licensing authorities, employers and training institutions worldwide. EALTS test centresEALTS, the English for Aviation Language Testing System, measures the ability to communicate in English in the context of aviation and aeronautical communications in compliance with the ICAO 2008 Language Proficiency Requirements. Language proficiency ratings obtained by the measure of the EALTS may be used for licence endorsement purposes subject to the recognition of EALTS certification by the relevant regulatory or licensing authority. The EALTS Test Partners are the UK CAA International 1 and Language Testing and Assessment Services. All EALTS administration is carried out through Central EALTS Administration. Central EALTS Administration manages all EALTS test centres worldwide. Test centres may be established within the organisations of national regulatory/licensing authorities, aircraft operators, air navigation service providers, flight and air traffic control training academies and language training institutions. EALTS local test centres are responsible for the administration of tests to candidates. All centres must adhere to stringent marketing, delivery and administration requirements within a secure environment. The EALTS offers a proven and trusted English for Aviation testing system measuring a test-taker’s true-to-life ability to communicate in English in the context of aviation and aeronautical communications.
